I paid Uche Maduagwu to ‘Beat’ Him in Viral Video, Says Jim Iyke

I paid Uche Maduagwu to ‘Beat’ Him in Viral Video, Says Jim Iyke

Nollywood star, Jim Iyke, has revealed that he paid fellow actor Uche Maduagwu to beat him in a video that went viral last year.

Iyke had in August 2021 beat Maduagwu up for questioning his source of wealth. The video went viral at that time.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo published on Wednesday, Iyke noted that the beating was orchestrated and that he paid Maduagwu after they reached an agreement.

He said, “I called the man, we had an understanding, I paid very well for it, rolled out the script, called Moses in, we shot it and we’re about to release the ending of it. I’m not stupid. I will never make that kind of mistake.”

Iyke added that it was his strategy to promote his movie, Bad Comments.

“We buried over N20m in the production of that film and people were still viewing it with a certain degree of cynicism. Immediately there was a scandal, it caught fire,” the actor revealed.

He further noted that he was discouraged about pulling the stunt but went on with it because he understood what the people wanted.

Iyke said, “I even called my sister the day before and she said that it will backfire. I said ‘No’. I understand people’s mindsets. They have a propensity for gossip and bad news. There’s no way it would backfire.”

BBNaija: JMK Shows Deep Interest in Emmanuel

BBNaija: JMK Shows Deep Interest in Emmanuel

BBNaija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Liquorose might be in for a competition in the house as JMK has openly declared her interest in Emmanuel.

She confessed to Angel while they were playing Tabletop football that she is deeply into Emmanuel.

Though Emmanuel is already in an entanglement with Liquorose, but it seems that didn't stop JMK from falling for Emmanuel.

Even though she is about to cause wahala, JMK is still scared that it might have an adverse effect as it could lead to her being chased out of the house.

Speaking to Angel, JMK said, "I am into this guy, but I don’t want his wife’s problem which might result into fight and I don’t want to be chased out of the house.”

Her fear for what Liquorose might do increased after she caught her staring at Emmanuel intently.

BB Naija Update: Pere VS WhiteMoney Issue

BB Naija Update: Pere VS WhiteMoney Issue

First question you should ask yourself is: why is it that Pere's strategy to winning #bbn season 6 focuses on destroying Whitemoney?

Is white money the only housemate in the house? You will get the answers if you manage to read through with understanding.

The hatred and negative energy coming from Pere towards Whitemoney is because his mumu love for Maria.

Recall, Maria and Whitemoney are more closer in the first and second week without knowing that Pere is very interested in her and was looking for opportunity to turn her against Whitemoney.

Luckily for Pere, the issue of Whitemoney withdrawing from Maria gradually and later claimed that he figured out Maria and Pere himself were the Wildcard came up.

Pere seized the opportunity to poisoned Maria, insinuating that Whitemoney had information from the organizers that they were the wildcard and despite Maria being Whitemoney's friend he refused to let her know.

Unfortunately Maria believed Pere and confront Whitemoney to explain her disappointment of him not being honest to her.

They argued and  Maria being Maria failed to trash it out.

Because Whitemoney did not agree with Maria that he was informed by an insider about them being wildcard she nominated him, which she later regretted and claimed  her brain was blank at that point and whitemoney name is the only name that came to her mind.

The same night Maria and Pere nominated Whitemoney was the day Pere pulled out Maria by 2am from her bed to express his feelings.

Pere thought by nominating Whitemoney he will get rid of him and have Maria's full attention but to his greatest surprise he was saved among the 2 out of 5 that was nominated.

Whitemoney being saved now increase his insecurity, bitterness and hatred because his plans failed and not only that his plans failed, he now perceived that whitemoney is popular outside.

In all these one thing we should know is fighting one with grace always end in disgrace.

BBNaija Update: Emmanuel, Niyi, Others evicted, JMK, Queen, Michael and Kayvee entered.

Day 15: It’s a home invasion! – BBNaija

Three move out, but four move in. Things are getting a little crazy.

Bet you didn’t see that coming! While it was certain that at least one of the Nominated Housemates was going to be on their way, nothing prepared us for the fact that there would be a grand total of three Housemates saying goodbye to the Big Brother House. There are top-selling music groups with fewer people than that.  After a fortnight in the game, Beatrice, Niyi and Yerins were required to bid the others adieu — although they weren't really required to do it in French — and get out of there, chop-chop.  "Chop-chop" means 15 seconds, here. Biggie really doesn't waste much time on long, drawn out goodbyes.

Beatrice's Nomination came on the back of her spoiler tactics during the Housemate's hunt for the two Wildcards — a strategy that probably seems a little rash to her, now. Yerins' status as "polymath" didn't provide him with the assorted skillset necessary to win the game.

Then came the second shock — new arrivals. A total of four new Housemates were introduced into the game tonight, meaning that the full complement of Housemates has gone up by one, rather than down. We were pretty sure it was going to move in the other direction. It’s going to start getting a little crowded, at this rate.

Of course, the new Housemates might be at something of a disadvantage — they have no rapport with the others, they don’t know the dynamics at play and — this is a big one — there might be some resentment on the part of the Housemates who have had to play the game for the past two weeks suddenly finding themselves with these new upstarts who haven't put in the time. It’s worth remembering, however, that the new Housemates have had to spend these past two weeks in isolation, sequestered away from Covid-19, which can’t have been much fun.

The question, then, is who are these new Housemates? Do they have what it takes to overcome these challenges? We dunno. We know nothing more about these folks than you do, but we can tell you that it's certainly a diverse group that entered the House, tonight.

DettolNigeria, NCDC Reacts to Funke Akindele's Husband's Birthday Party

Nigerian have reacted to the viral video of Funke Akindele's husband's birthday party in the midst of covid19 lockdown.
Funke Akinlede, a brand ambassador to DettolNigeria, who has sensitized the people on social distancing in different videos as a means of curbing the spread of corona virus released a video of a house party for the celebration of her husband's birthday which featured Naira Marley and score of others.

Some Nigerians on social media have shown their displeasure about this event. They complained that Funke Akindele who is know for pitching social distancing has also showcased a counter action to what she's preaching.

Some of the social media users called for her arrest for flaunting the lockdown order.

Meanwhile, Funke Akindele has released another video to explain to Nigerians that she has not disobeyed the lock down order and also apologized for releasing the misleading  video of the house party to the public.

Reporting has reached us that Funke Akindele has been arrested by The Nigerian Police and has been taken to Panti Police Station while her husband is also expected to report at the police station.

DettolNigeria hss however replied to the even and reaction in a tweet the same day.

See tweet:

We have been made aware through social media that Funke Akindele recently, acting in her personal capacity, had a celebration which is against the caution to the public on social distancing during the covid-19 pandemic.

The NCDC partnered with Dettol on a public service message to educate our communities about preventive measures against COVID-19. Funke is not a brand ambassador of the NCDC.

As a responsible organization and brand Dettol does not condone any breach of the guidelines on Covid-19. As an organization we are concerned at the turn of events.

We will continue to support NCDC and the Nigerian govt to fight COVID-19

Meanwhile some people have speculated that Funke Akindele is a brand ambassador to NCDC.

The NCDC has also released a statement in a tweet:

As an agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria, NCDC has not engaged brand ambassadors as part of our response to #COVID19

We continue to emphasise that all Nigerians maintain #socialdistancing to prevent the spread of #COVID19

Bbnaija 2019: I Spent N1.5m On Votes -Jackye’s Boyfriend Laments, Calls Out Deloitte

Bbnaija 2019: I Spent N1.5m On Votes -Jackye’s Boyfriend Laments, Calls Out Deloitte

Lami, the boyfriend of recently evicted-Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Jackye has called out the organizers of the reality show over votes.
Lami, in a post on his Instagram page revealed he personally spent 1.5million naira on votes for Jackye but the ‘votes didn’t count’.
Newsflash247 recalls that Jackye was on Sunday evicted from BBNaija reality show alongside Gedoni.
Lami requested the organisers to allow his tech firm carry out an audit of Delloite servers and questioned how much money other housemates spent on voting to get their numbers up.
Alongside a receipt of money spent, he wrote: “Even State and National election votes don’t count in Nigeria. I personally spent 1.5m in my humble capacity and still na voice mail the money enter but na esha bread for where God dey and besides my girl is worth way more than that.
“Makes me wonder how much is been sincerely spent in others camp weekly that shoots their % so high then they must have a chairman in their family and if not then how?
“Watched Big Brother so much I barely had time to cater to myself, my business distracted like say na National Assembly election Jackye dey contest for on top 30m wey my girl wanna win, chaii I don suffer.
“Anyway na wetin the organizers want and Deloitte like dem go show and it was more like they listen to the noise of Twitter now rather than allowing real votes count because I got more verifiable receipts of votes and if they would allow my little David tech team to come audit their giant Goliath severs we may be able to pull a super story headline in another big brother social media handler sarcastic manner.
“Overall to God be the glory because 60m no fit buy the fame and opportunities she has now and that alone we are grateful for even though it comes along with a lot of hate amidst the great love.”

BREAKING: Court Grants Sober Looking Naira Marley Bail

The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi has granted Nigerian musician Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley bail.
At the resumed bail application, the lead defense counsel, Olalekan Ojo apologized for his absence at the initial arraignment on May 20 due to heavy down poor.

Ojo urged the court to accept the bail application Prima Facie based on the presumption of his innocence in accordance with Section 162 (1).
The defense also pleaded that a liberal approach is taken in hearing the bail application.
The prosecution counsel, led by Rotimi Oyedepo, however, argued that it is not the temporary release of the singer that mattered but the final judgment.
He, therefore, urged the court to grant accelerated hearing rather than bail.
He added that since the lawyer of the defendant said the defendant is a celebrity, then his actions and inactions have a multiplier effect on youths in the entire federation.
Justice Nicholas Oweibo who presided over the bail hearing after listening to the defense and prosecution arguments granted the singer bail to the sum of two million Naira with two sureties.
The trial has been adjourned to 22, 23 and 24 of October for accelerated hearing.

Tiwa Savage beats Davido at MTV Europe Music awards

Tiwa Savage beats Davido at MTV Europe Music awards

Tiwa Savage: beats Davido, others at the MTV Europe Music Awards

Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has become the first Nigerian female artist to win the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) in the Best African Act category.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Afro-pop singer snatched the record-breaking award at the 2018 MTV EMAs held on Sunday at the Bilbao Exhibition Center, Bilbao, Spain with several music stars across the world in attendance.
The African act category, in 2005, was infused into the MTV EMA to enhance musical alliances across borders, and promote cultural integrations.
NAN reports that until Tiwa’s win, three Nigerians had taken the award home including 2Baba in 2005, D’banj in 2007 and 2012; and Davido in 2017.
In 2018, Tiwa was nominated alongside fellow Nigerian act, David Adeleke, aka Davido; South Africa’s Distruction Boyz and Shekinah; Kenya’s Nyashinski and Fally Ipupa from the DRC.
Celebrating the award, Tiwa took to her Instagram page @tiwasavage to dedicate the win to African women and aspiring young girls.

She said, “Almighty God, you are so faithful. My savage soldiers did it for me.
“You have stuck with me through the roller coasters. Thank you. To my amazing team, this is just the beginning. African women, this is for us.
“I have been through a lot but I have kept my head up and weathered the storm because I know some little girl somewhere is dreaming like I did,” Tiwa said.
She signed a recording contract with Mavin Records in 2012 and currently has a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
The mother of one also signed a management and publishing deal with Roc Nation in June 2016.
However, the biggest winner at the awards night was the Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello.
She scooped four awards, winning “Best Song,” “Best Artist,” “Best Video” and “Best U.S. Act” in a show that featured a stellar performance from Janet Jackson.
Cabello, 21, who already led the pack at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, urged her fans in the United States to vote in the 2018 midterm elections as she walked the red carpet in the northern Spanish city of Bilbao, Reuters reported.
The singer, who rose to fame as a member of the girl group “Fifth Harmony,” formed on the U.S. edition of the X-Factor, said she relished being seen as a role model.
“I feel like the message for me has always been just like do what makes you happy, even if it’s scary, it’s worth it to take the risk because your happiness is your responsibility,” Cabello said.
“That’s always been my message and I talk about it a lot but I feel like it’s a good message. And yes, very important, go vote!” she said.
Jackson, who received a “Global Icon” award, sang hits of her 40-year career over four stages and surrounded by African drummers, flame torches, firebreathers and more than 20 dancers.
The show took place at Bilbao’s exhibition centre and was hosted by Hailee Steinfeld, who performed “Back to Life,” a song that will feature on the soundtrack of her forthcoming movie Bumblebee.
One of the hits of the night was Spanish Flamenco-inspired artist Rosalia singing “Malamente” after rolling on stage in a gigantic truck.
Five-time winners of MTV Europe Music Awards, English rock band Muse also made a splash by performing “Pressure” from Bilbao’s world-famous soccer stadium San Mames.
Other notable performances included Bebe Rexha singing “I’m a Mess” while in a bathtub surrounded by nurses and 100 dancers and Halsey performing “Without Me” surrounded by rainfall.
The show was opened by Nicki Minaj with her new hit “Good Form,” followed by her collaboration with Little Mix “Woman Like Me.” Minaj also received the awards for “Best Look” and “Best Hip-Hop.”
American D.J. Marshmello, who won “Best Electronic,” closed out the night alongside Anne-Marie with their hit “FRIENDS” and alongside Bastille with “Happier.” The performance was also among the public as hundreds of Marshmello inflated balls flooded the venue for the finale.
Other winners included Dua Lipa, who took the “Best Pop,” Shawn Mendes who won “Best Live” and 5 Seconds of Summer who received “Best Rock.”
