Video: Twitter ban in Nigeria was a matter of misplaced Priorities - CNN

Its no longer a news that Nigerian government led by president Buhari has banned twitter, because the microblog deleted his genocidal tweet that threatened a section of the country.

Shortly after the tweet in question was deleted, the federal government announced the ban of Twitter, on the ground that activities of Nigerians using twitter undermines the security of the nation. 

Also it was alleged by Buhari's minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed that twitter did not delete Nnamdi Kanu's tweet that threatened to kill Nigerian Army. 

Amid the whole hullabaloo, twitter was banned. 

Meanwhile, Nigerians insisted that they have the freedom of speech and part of the fundamentals human rights they have is freedom of getting information in any medium they choose. 

The Twitter users resulted to using Virtual Private Network, VPN, to continue to access the microblog. 

Jonathan Resenthal, an Africa Editor of The Economist has said on CNN that Twitter ban in Nigeria was a matter of misplaced priorities.
