One Nigeria government official and five others have been judged by an Abu DhabiFederal Court of Appeal in the United Arab Emirates for allegedly sponsoring the dreadful Boko Haram group in Nigeria.
The alleged perpetrator was accused of pumping cash to the Boko Haram group's worth of $782,000 between 2015 and 2016.
They have been found guilty by a lower court in UAE, prompting them to file an appeal, and have now been found guilty as well by a higher court.
The suspects are identified as Saleh Yusuf Adamu, Surajo Abubakar Muhammad, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, AbdurRahman Ado Musa, Bashir Ali Yusuf and Muhammad Ibrahim Isa.
Our correspondent gathered that on Monday that two of the convicts Surajo Abubakar Musa and Saleh Yusuf Adamu were sentenced to life imprisonment while the remaining four got Ten years imprisonment each.
The accused were said to have apprehended between April 16 and 17 2017 and their home search warrant issued by the National Security Prosecution dated April 2017.
They were all convicted in 2019 after facing charges of funding terrorism by enabling the transfer of money from Dubai to Nigeria.
