Enugu Community Apprehends Native Doctor Over Alleged Ritual Múrders

A horrific incident has shaken the Umuma Ndiagu community in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State. Residents have uncovered soakaway pits filled with the déad bodies of people, including pregnant women and children, in the compound of a native doctor identified as Ezeani.

‎ The community members believe that Ezeani kidnàppers and bûried the victims alive for ritúal purposes.

‎In a viral video, a community member recounted the horror, saying, "We have caught the kîllers. They kīll people. People's deád bodies are full inside here. They have kílled a lot of people. We just rescued a 13-year-old child who they wanted to use for ritúal."

‎A suspect, believed to be a security guard at the native doctor's compound, was apprehended by the community members.

‎Although he denied involvement in the kíllings, he admitted frequenting the native doctor's residence for ritúal purposes.

‎The suspect identified Ezeani as the mastermind and claimed to know two other individuals believed to be accomplices.

‎The community members were outraged and búrned down Ezeani's house and cars. Ezeani's wives were also caught by the community members, while he himself is currently on the run.

‎The incident has raised concerns about the prevalence of ritual kîllīngs in the state, and the need for authorities to take decisive action to prevent such crímes.

‎ The community demands justice for the victims and their families, and calls on the police to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

‎Efforts to get the comments of the Enugu State Police Command on the matter were unsuccessful, as the Public Relations Officer did not respond to calls and messages.

‎The incident has left the community in shock and trauma, and many are still grappling with the gruesome discovery.
